People always want to know if their lawyer is "This is a horrible process. It is frustrating. It takes a long time and all the while the claimant is trying to stay afloat financially. People always want to know if their lawyer is "doing a good job." After all, if you knew what your lawyer should be doing, you wouldn't need the lawyer in the first place. In my view, if you are even asking that question, the answer is probably: No. When you meet with a lawyer/doctor/plumber/electrition - anyone with specialized skills - you need to interview them. Don't think that you are lucky just because the lawyer took your case. If your lawyer does not return your calls within 48 hours; if the staff is rude; if you are confused and your questions aren't answered: interview someone else. This is the single most important thing in your life right now. There are great lawyers out there. But there are also lawyers who treat their clients like just another file number and not as an actual living, breathing person. Do your part. Interview the professional you hire (doctor/lawyer/plumber/mechanic). You deserve to be treated as well as you would treat others.
