Every state in the country has its own rules and regulations; immigration law in Alabama is no exception. In the state of Alabama, you may work without a green card; however, you still must have a non-immigrant working visa, or an employment authorization card. Sometimes, even if you do not have the required card, you may work in the state of Alabama if you have a specific skill that the employer is very much in need of. In matters like this, you will need the assistance of an immigration lawyer who can argue your case before a judge. If you win the case, you may be legally able to work in Alabama without a green card or an employment card.

Can Foreign Companies Transfer Their Employees to Alabama?

It is a complicated issue, but a foreign company may transfer employees to the United States to work in certain cases. If so, the employees will need L1-A-Visas. This is a non-immigrant visa that allows the transfer of a manager or executive from a foreign country to a country in the U.S. In most states, including Alabama, certain stipulations must be fulfilled however. First of all, the alien must have worked for the company as a manager or executive for at least 1 year of the 3 years preceding the application. The alien must be coming to the U.S. to work in a branch, affiliate, or subsidiary of the company they worked for in the other country as well. There are a few other stipulations as well, so make sure you familiar with this law if it applies to you.

Can I Bring My Relatives With Me to Work in The U.S.?

Immigration law in Alabama does allow a legal United States citizen to bring relatives from another country to the state in order to work. This may be accomplished in the following circumstances: the immigrant is your husband or wife, if the immigrant is your son or daughter, or if the immigrant is your mother, father, sister, or brother. Even a non-U.S. citizen may sponsor somebody if they have a green card themselves. They may sponsor their spouse, and any unmarried sons and daughters. This policy was put in place in order to help the families of immigrant workers stay together. Hopefully, this overview of immigration law in Alabama has answered some important questions of yours. For more detailed information regarding your circumstance, an Attorney near you can give you answers you need.
