The wife of a Hanover Township, Lehigh County, man who was killed during the 1999 Concept Sciences explosion has settled all legal claims for more than $1.6 million. The evening of Feb. 19, 1999, Terry Bowers, 48, was working as a general manager of a vending machine company in offices adjoining Concept Sciences on Roble Road in Lehigh Valley Industrial Park III, Hanover Township, Lehigh County. Bowers, who had two sons, now 16 and 26, died when a connecting wall collapsed during a blast at Concept Sciences that also killed four Concept Sciences employees. The explosion, which was heard for miles around, injured other Concept Sciences employees and people working in nearby buildings. The widow, Diane Bowers, said she didn't want to comment on the settlement.
