An eight-year-old boy from Madison Township died after being shocked by a bumper cart ride in August of 2003. Greyson Yoe died Sept 2, 2003 and his parents filed a lawsuit against the Lake County Fair Board and the ride owner. The terms of the settlement are undisclosed but the maximum insurance coverage was $2 million. The owner of the ride was sentenced to 6 months in jail while the ride supervisor was sentenced to 90 days in jail. As well, the Lake County electrician was sentenced to 30 days in jail and the Department of Agriculture Inspectors was also sentenced to 15 days in jail.
