Lindsay VanSchoick v. Merricac Cartage
Case Number:
Unknown
Date: 03/18/05
State: New Hampshire
Details:
A Hillsborough County Superior Court jury awarded a Brookline man $1.7 million in damages Tuesday for injuries he suffered in a motor vehicle crash five years ago. Lindsay VanSchoick, 56, sustained debilitating back, neck and elbow injuries in February 2000 when his Ford Explorer slammed into the side of a tractor-trailer that was hauling refuse near an Interstate 495 on-ramp in Lawrence, Mass. At the end of the weeklong trial, the jury ruled against the driver of the tractor-trailer, John Hopping of Raymond, and his employer, Merrimac Cartage of North Andover, Mass., siding with VanSchoick, who charged that he did not have time to avoid the crash when Hopping drove through a stop sign.
Verdict Outcome:
Jury verdict for plaintiff in car accident in the amount of $1.7 million
