Car Accident - Rear-End - On March 18, 1994, plaintiff, Lesa S. Petrus was driving north on Line Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana, on her way to work. Plaintiff clicked her right turn signal and was then struck from behind by a car driven by defendant Jeanne Bain. Plaintiff suffered injuries and her car was damaged. Defendant advised police that she did not see the plaintiff's blinker. Police then reported that accident was a result of defendant following too closely, which rendered her unable to react in a timely manner to avoid the collision with the plaintiff. Plaintiff was taken to the emergency room and later released. Plaintiff was later diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a condition that causes chronic pain. Verdict for the plaintiff gave defendant 80% responsibility for the accident, a judgment of $61,154.
