Details:

Melissa Congleton, a married mother of two who worked at the Henry County John Deere distributor, was killed instantly when a 5.5 ton roll of steel coil slid off of a truck on U.S. Highway 421 and hit her car. The Plaintiff's claimed that the company and its driver were grossly negligent in failing to properly secure the load.

Verdict Outcome:

Plaintiff verdict for $1 million for each of Congleton's children, $670,000 lost wages, $100,000 mental anguish and $1 million punitive damage
