Details:
Truck accident - On November 19, 1994, Carlson was employed by codefendant David Holland. Carlson started drinking after work and was taking side streets home after leaving a bar at 11 p.m. in order to avoid detection by the police. Carlson ran a stop sign at a T-intersection and crashed into Reeves' home. Reeves sustained head and other injuries as a result of the truck hitting her house. Reeves filed suit on November 16, 1995, alleging that Carlson and his employer were liable for the injuries she sustained when the truck driven by Carlson ran into her house.
Verdict Outcome:
Plaintiff's verdict for $10,800 in actual damages and $10,000 in punitive damages.
