Automobile Accident - This case arises out of a May 21, 1995 automobile accident that occurred on Interstate 95 South near Delaware Route 141. There were five southbound lanes at the location of the accident, with the fifth lane from the right merging from Route 295 into the fourth lane from the right. Edwards was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Poore. The other vehicle involved in the accident was driven by Solodkin, with his wife as a passenger. Edwards was injured when there was a collision between the vehicle driven by Poore, who was merging from the fifth lane into the fourth lane and the vehicle driven by Solodkin, who was traveling to the right of Poore. The jury found Poore to be solely liable for Edwards' injuries and awarded him $160,000. It assessed no liability against Solodkin.
