Amputation Injuries

In serious car accidents, truck accidents, and in particular, motorcycle accidents, a collision creates force against body parts that can be so great as to cut the body part away from the rest of the body.  Amputation injuries can occur in serious accidents.  Because of the motorcyclist’s vulnerability at collision, it is not uncommon for amputation injuries to occur in motorcycle accidents.  Medical science has progressed in the area of micro surgery so that some amputated body parts can be successfully re-attached that could not be re-attached 10 years ago.  Even so, the parts re-attached usually lack the same function and sensation that an uninjured arm or leg has.
