U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)

Similar to the US Business advosor, the SBA is focused on the entreprenuer. You can find a lot of resources on financning new businesses, developing a business plan, types of business structures, how to get the required business licenses, and more.

This resource contains a wealth of data on various laws governing business practices and operations. Covered are both federal laws governing all US based business, and well as state specific laws.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

For those who would like to partake in a franchise, the FTC has a great resource for both complaints, as well as housing all US regulations covering franchises.

North American Securities Administrators Association, Inc. (NASAA)
