Mixed News for Disability Claims in Indiana

Waiting for a Disability hearing is often frustrating at the very least.  In Indiana, we often are forced to wait longer than almost any other place in the country.  At one point in 2008, Indiana was the very slowest Social Security hearing center.  Things have improved somewhat since then, but not much.  Now, the Feds are expecting a boom in Disability claims at least for the next year.  I predict that boom will continue for some time as the Baby Boomers age and have trouble maintaining employment during the down economy.  Social Security Commissioner Michael Astrue noted "We're going to be moving backwards this year, the question is how much."

The long wait for a Social Security Disability or SSI hearing means that it is in your best interest to get the process started quickly if you can no longer work.  If you receive a denial, the attorneys at the Law Office of Steve Jacobs can make sure Social Security does not ignore your case and might be able to speed up the process.
