Firm Overview

Vulcan Legal Group is a full service law firm based in Birmingham, Alabama. Our focus is consumer protection including bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, creditor harassment, FDCPA and FCRA claims. We also assist individuals and businesses in matters related to immigration law and business law.

Bankruptcy
Filing for bankruptcy can be an overwhelming experience. It is a time when people feel vulnerable. Unfortunately it is also a time of careful planning and important decisions. We are dedicated to providing our clients with the best possible outcomes. We explore every option including lien stripping (discharging second-mortgages), cram-downs (reducing car payments to the actual value of the car), and negotiating mortgage arrears.

Foreclosure Defense

  • Navigating a phone tree maze, entering your loan number and social security number multiple times only to spend hours on the phone with different representatives.

  • Faxing multiple loan modification packets

  • Threats of foreclosure

If any of the foregoing examples sounds familiar to you, then you may need to hire an attorney. Your home is likely the most valuable asset that you own. Unfortunately, the rise of securitization and servicing has resulted in homeowners being forced into foreclosure wrongfully. We have successfully defended against wrongful foreclosure actions even after a foreclosure sale has occurred.

    • Loss Mitigation(Loan Modification, Deed-in-lieu, Short Sale, etc)

    • Wrongful foreclosure

    • Mortgage Servicing Abuse (Forced Placed Insurance, Misapplication of Payments, etc)

    • Loan Origination Violations

Creditor Harassment (FDCPA)

Some debt collectors cross the line from debt collection into harassment, in violation of the law. Among other things, it is illegal for debt collectors to call you after 8 p.m., or at work, or even on your cell phone. We can stop the harassing phone calls and sometimes even collect damages.

FCRA (Credit Reports)

Credit scores are becoming increasingly important. A low score means you will pay more for credit and can even stop you from getting certain jobs. If a creditor continues to report false information, you may be entitled to monetary damages.

Choosing the right lawyer is one of the most important steps that you take on the path to financial recovery. That is why we offer free consultations. We encourage potential clients to come in and meet with us before they make that decision. Before you give in to harassing creditors or intimidating foreclosure notices, call and schedule a free consultation.
