Attorney Rachel Hersh Van Wormer, the founder of Van Wormer Law, LLC is an experienced attorney who concentrates her practice in all aspects of immigration law. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the American Bar Association (ABA), and the Virginia Bar Association (VBA). She also serves as co-chairperson of the Immigration Law Forum of the Womens Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
Prior to opening her own practice, Ms. Van Wormer practiced at VK Vandaveer, PLLC, where she focused on a wide variety of immigration law matters.
Ms. Van Wormer earned her law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. She received her bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she was a James Monroe Scholar.
Ms. Van Wormer has a background in international law and international relations. She has lived and studied in Krakow, Poland and Rome, Italy. While in Krakow, she took part in the Jagellonian University's International Business and Trade Law Program as a recipient of the Kosciuszko Foundation Scholarship for Academic Excellence. While in Rome, she spent her time mastering the Italian language and studying Italian history, art and architecture.
Outside the office, Ms. Van Wormer works as a pro bono attorney for the Borromeo Legal Project in Arlington, Virginia. There, she provides assistance to members of the St. Charles Borromeo parish community who have unmet legal needs in matters related to U.S. immigration, such as naturalization and deportation.
