Firm history

The members of the firm began practice together in 1994 under the
law firm known as Cohen Vacanti Higgins Shattuck. Attorneys Chris
Vacanti and Kelly Shattuck have formed a new firm now known as Vacanti
Shattuck and retain most of our previous legal staff and our associate
attorney, Anita Mayo.

Our exclusive focus on family law

Experience and depth of knowledge make a world of difference in the
quality of service a lawyer is able to provide to a client going
through a divorce or custody proceeding. Since 1994, our attorneys have focused exclusively on family law.
Limiting our practice in this way allows us to provide our clients the
most effective representation. Our practice involves issues related to
divorce, including division of property, alimony, child support and
custody.

Active members in Nebraska's legal and civic communities

Our attorneys
are active in the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Family Law
Section of the Bar Association. Christopher Vacanti was chair of the
Family Law section in 2007 and 2008 and Kelly Shattuck was an executive
member of the family Law section in 2005 and 2006. They have both been
members of the State Bar Executive Committee for Family Law, and all
our attorneys have served as presenters in family law workshops for
members of Nebraska's legal community. Members of the firm have been
regular guests on Omaha radio and television programs, including the
Todd N Tyler Morning Show on Z92.

Serving mothers, fathers, husbands and wives

Our clients include mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, parents who
have never been married, married persons seeking divorce and couples
preparing for marriage. Since our firm's early years, our attorneys
have been strong advocates for the rights of parents and children, and
were instrumental in resolving traditional inequities in family law. As
a result, they became known to many as the Nebraska fathers' rights lawyers.
