Mr. Thomas McCormack, Member of Thomas A. McCormack Family Law
Thomas McCormack began in the general practice of law in 1979 and later served as a domestic relations trial magistrate for more than seven years. His hands-on experience with thousands of divorce cases makes him a knowledgeable representative on family issues, especially regarding children and parenting.
Attuned to how things look from both sides of the bench, to legal professionals and non-professionals alike, he is a steadfast advocate for people who want to understand and have their say in the legal process. That is as it should be. Participation is essential to constructively resolving family issues and moving forward in a positive direction. It begins with an initial consultation at no charge. You can expect
- Discretion in dealing with complex and delicate issues
- Strong advocacy on your behalf
- As much of a voice in every aspect of your case as you want, within the limits of what the law, the courts, and ethical practice permit
- Constant dedication to resolving issues without resorting to drawn out and expensive legal proceedings
In more than twenty years of private practice in trial and appellate courts, Tom worked extensively in pension and benefits law, labor law, and domestic relations. He brings to his current practice
- A sophisticated grasp of the division of pension benefits in divorce actions, grounded both in long-term representation of major Ohio multi-employer pension & benefit plans and in case experience
- An experience-based knowledge of the research and theories courts now use to consider matters of family evaluation, parenting, and child support
- A history of creative representation of youthful offenders, structuring and negotiating de facto diversion programs in local courts throughout Ohio
