The founding attorney of Teplen & Associates, PLLC has been practicing law since 1983. Mr. Teplen is regularly listed in Who's Who in the World for outstanding contributions to the legal and business community. He has represented thousands of individual, corporate and institutional clients throughout the United States and Internationally in the resolution of U.S. Immigration issues and legal matters involving real estate, corporate, and estate law. The corner stone of the firm is Mr. Teplen's philosophy that the immigration client can only truly and best be represented if one is able to understand all of the related support issues essential to successful settlement in the United States.
Mr. Teplen's Gestalt philosophy stems from his diverse educational and professional background. His education includes: Brooklyn Law School (J.D. 1982), Georgetown University (B.S.B.A., Finance, Cum Laude, 1979) and Oxford University Center for Management Studies, Graduate International Business Finance, Marketing & Government Program (1978). In addition to legal representation, Mr. Teplen has served as Founder, Officer or Director of many corporations in the Construction, Financial, Energy and Computer industries.
The aforestated foundation has provided Mr. Teplen with unique expertise to represent immigration clients before the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Department of Labor, Department of State, Board of Immigration Appeals and the Executive Office of Immigration Review in a method that maximizes all the strengths of the application.
Mr. Teplen's immigration law experience includes family and employment based applications. He is thoroughly experienced in and has pioneered many successful strategies in alien labor certifications, J-1 visa waivers, O-1 Visas, National Interest Applications and many other immigrant and non-immigrant matters, including those issues unique to foreign physicians, teachers and scientists such as licensure, employment contracts, practice formation, waivers and immigrant exceptional circumstance cases.
Mr. Teplen has lectured on immigration law at Florida International University and has been interviewed and profiled as a pre-eminent immigration attorney on ABC television news, The New York Daily News, India Aboard and El Diario newspapers. Mr. Teplen has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1984 and was admitted to the New York State Bar, Federal District Court for the First and Second Departments of New York in 1983 and Fourth Department since 2005.
