Melissa Peters, Member of Slater Kennon & Jameson, LLP
Ms. Peters was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas in 2001, and her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2007. Ms. Peters was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in 2007 and before the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas in 2008. She was licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in 2009.
Ms. Peters began her career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas in the Law Enforcement Defense division. While at the Office of the Attorney General, Ms. Peters represented law enforcement officers, in both state and federal court, for alleged violations of the Constitution. She joined Slater, Kennon & Jameson, LLP in 2009, concentrating in the area of family law.
Ms. Peters is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Young Lawyers Association, Austin Bar Association and Williamson County Bar Association..
