Catherine Goodin, Member of Scalia Goodin LLP

Katie is a partner at Scalia Goodin LLP. The majority of Katie’s practice consists of representing businesses, business owners and real property owners. Although she provides all of the services offered by Scalia Goodin LLP, Katie specializes in all areas of leasing (including wireless telecommunication facilities), contract preparation and review, business transactions, purchase and sale transactions, and the representation of retail and wholesale petroleum companies.

Experience

Previously a general operations manager in the fuel industry, Katie has experience running the day-to-day business operations of a retail fuel corporation, where she managed fuel inventories and ensured the corporation’s compliance with all licensing, safety, environmental, air quality and hazardous material requirements for commercial fueling sites and a bulk fuel storage facility.  In addition, she served as the company’s counsel, reviewed and prepared various business contracts, managed the company’s accounts receivables, handled debt collections, negotiated with customers to obtain payment, and established corporate policies and procedures.

Katie was an Associate Attorney in the Business and Real Estate Departments of the Sacramento firm Murphy Austin Adams Schoenfeld LLP where she assisted with various commercial real estate matters, including purchase and sale and leases for offices, agriculture, wireless telecommunication facilities and other commercial enterprises.  She also assisted with various business transactions, including stock redemptions and the sale of assets and securities, as well as the preparation and review of various business transactional agreements, such as product sale agreements, service agreements, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, assignment agreements and promissory notes.  Katie also handled the formation, operation and dissolution of business entities, including the preparation and review of operating agreements, partnership agreements, bylaws, articles of incorporation, articles of organization, corporate minutes, company resolutions and Secretary of State filings.

She also has experience representing wireless telecommunication service providers at administrative hearings and meetings with the general public.  Katie has negotiated long-term lease agreements with private property owners and obtained project approvals and entitlements for multiple wireless telecommunication sites.
