Michael Peticolas, Member of Peticolas Law Firm PLLC
Michael Peticolas is a fifth generation Texas trial attorney, possibly
the only person in the world who can claim this distinction. Although
only 37 years old, he has handled hundreds of lawsuits in his career,
including a number of cases that received intensive media attention
locally, across the State of Texas, nationally, and internationally. At
the local level during his first year of practice, Michael helped
represent more than a hundred El Paso Police Department Officers in
litigation against the City of El Paso. Soon afterward, he represented
three individuals sued by wrongful death plaintiffs in connection with
the collapse of the Texas Aggie Bonfire on November
18, 1999. Many Texans will recall that 12 Texas A&M students died
and many others were injured as a result of the Bonfire collapse.
Shortly after opening his own firm, Michael successfully represented
individuals with wrongful death claims against British Petroleum North
America Inc. The suit resulted from an explosion at the British Petroleum industrial plant in Texas City, Texas on March 23, 2005. The explosion caused the death of 15 people and received media attention world wide.
In 2007, LawDragon
named Michael as one of the 3000 Leading Plaintiff’s Lawyers in
America. The University of Texas at Dallas also appointed Michael to
its Pre-Law Advisory Council in 2008.
Michael Peticolas is admitted to practice as a member of the Texas State Bar, New Mexico State Bar, United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of Texas, and United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the American Trial Lawyer’s Association, Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Dallas Bar Association, and Dallas Young Lawyer’s Association.
