J. Michael Parsons was born and raised in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. He attended University of Virginia and graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia in 1991. Mr. Parsons graduated with Cum Laude honors and double majored in Political Science and Spanish. He was inducted into the honorary fraternities of Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha. In 1992, Mr. Parsons attended University of Mississippi School of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1995. During Law School, Mr. Parsons won American Jurisprudence Awards in Ethics, Property II, and Corrections. Mr. Parsons also served as an Editor on the Editorial Board for the Mississippi Law Review. He also served as a chairman of the Ole Miss Law Moot Court Board.


After law school, Mr. Parsons represented and defended employer's and insurer's in worker's compensation and liability claims. He practiced with Holcomb Dunbar, LLP in Oxford, Missisippi from 1995-1998. In 1998, Michael moved back home to Atlanta, passed the Georgia Bar and began practicing with Swift, Currie, McGhee and Hiers, LLP, one of the largest insurance defense firms in the Southeast. Mr. Parsons handled worker's compensation claims exclusively. In 2001, Mr. Parsons became disillusioned with insurance companies and their treatment of the injured and left to join Warner, Mayoue and Bates, P.C., a very well-known domestic litigation firm. Mr. Parsons worked on a variety of high profile celebrity and high net worth domestic matters.

In 2003, Mr. Parsons formed Parsons Law Group, LLC, in order to represent the injured and their loved ones. He is a highly-regarded lawyer and is a frequent lecturer at Continuing Legal Education seminars. For example, Mr. Parsons has spoken at the Atlanta Claims Convention in 2003 where he delivered a lecture titled: "The Claimant's Perspective". Recently, in 2008, Mr. Parsons authored an article, "Litigating Occupational Disease Claims" and presented a speech on the same topic at the Advanced Worker's Compensation Seminar at the Georgia Bar. Mr. Parsons resides in Buckhead and is married with two young children. He is a volunteer nursery school teacher at First Presbyterian Church in Midtown and is a youth baseball coach with Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and Buckhead Baseball.
