Jim Holland, Member of Law Office of Corey Evan Parker

Following his year at Oxford Jim accepted a scholarship to Willamette University College of Law, serving as Articles Editor of the Willamette Law Review and also graduating in the top 25% of his class. Jim received the highest grade awarded in both Tort Law and Business Law and won his First Year Appellate Competition – an award given to the most outstanding oral advocate in the law school class.

After law school Jim spent two years practicing with Perkins Coie in Seattle litigating products liability cases. Jim then accepted appointment as a King County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney where he tried more than 40 jury trials, culminating in a successful six-count felony conviction of a defendant sentenced to more than 10 years in prison. Jim has also lectured on the nuances of prosecuting felony drug cases.

Additionally, Jim has tremendous civil trial experience. Most notably he prevailed with co-counsel in the matter of Johnson v. Lang, resulting in a $2.4 million dollar award for his client at trial. Recently he also prevailed in the case of 16th Street Investors, LLC v. Joseph W. Morrison, resulting in more than half a million dollars in awards, fees and savings for his client.

Perhaps most importantly Jim brings a tremendous depth of experience, knowledge and compassion to his practice. With his vast courtroom experience and knowledge of tort law he currently heads our personal injury department and is committed to making our clients whole. He recognizes the trust that injured parties put in their counsel and accordingly works tirelessly to help his clients put their lives back together after serious and often life-changing trauma.

Additionally, Jim also lends his criminal knowledge and expertise to our firm. Having prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases in the State of Washington he knows the enormity of the State resources that clients are up against when facing criminal charges and ensures that our clients’ voices are heard. In particular, in addition to his personal injury emphasis, Jim has a passion for defending DUI’s. He understands how easy it is for good people to end up in serious trouble in a State with some of the harshest DUI laws in the nation. Jim’s judgment, temperament and experience ensure that our clients are in the most capable hands when navigating some of the darkest times in their lives. We’re proud and lucky to have such a consummate professional and know that you’ll feel the same way.
