$325,000.00 Settlement for Racial Discrimination Case

Description: LOS ANGELES - The superstar attorneys of Mesriani Law Group’s Employment Law Division have scored another big win for their clients, this time getting a settlement in the amount of $325,000.00 from a national chemical company on a claim for racial discrimination and harassment as well as whistleblowing claims. The plaintiff, Mr. Wilcher, was an African American male who was a long time employee of the company. Mr. Wilcher clashed repeatedly with a supervisor who disliked Mr. Wilcher because of his race. As a result, Mr. Wilcher was the subject of disparate treatment, subjected to harassment and racial insults as well as being denied promotions and penalized with changed in work assignments. Mr. Wilcher was also being subjected to harassment.

Outcome: Due to the repeated violations uncovered by the investigations of the Employment Law Division, the chemical company was forced to come to the table and negotiate within a year of their initial refusal to even entertain negotiations. Trapped by their own actions and the strength of the case built by Mesriani Law Group, the chemical company was forced into a settlement for $325,000.00.
