Located in Durham, McGill & Noble is dedicated to securing Social Security Disability benefits and Veterans' Disability benefits for clients throughout the Triangle. Noble, who are both Board Certified Specialists in Social Security Disability Law.

Denials of Social Security Disability Benefits

The Social Security Administration (SSA) may have determined that your impairments are not severe enough to prevent you from working. Unfortunately, the agency doctors working for the state Disability Determination Services agency never actually see the patient, but rather make determinations based on medical evidence reported in the claim. Our attorneys can help you gather and present the necessary evidence to prove that your injury merits the benefits to which you are entitled.
The Claims and Appeals Process

After an initial application for benefits, most individuals receive a denial letter a few months later. If you have received a letter, you still have many opportunities to demonstrate your need and entitlement to benefits. Our attorneys will file a Request for Reconsideration, including all necessary medical and other documentation. If your claim is denied again, we will request a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). If further appeals are necessary, we are more than prepared to take your case to the Social Security Appeals Council and federal court.

How Does an Attorney Help?

An attorney is a strategic asset in obtaining Social Security Disability benefits. Our attorneys will file paperwork and gather necessary evidence to support your claim. We will review your medical file, consult with the treating doctors and ensure that their examination and determination meets the proper legal standard before pursuing the appeal with the SSA, ALJ or other reviewing entity. We will make every attempt to advocate your position, including arguing for an expedited hearing.

We have over 20 years of experience in effectively presenting cases and medical documentation to the SSA, we can demonstrate your need and entitlement to SSDI and/or SSI benefits.
