Christie Lyman Dowling is an attorney and mediator with more than a decade of experience, most recently as a partner in one of the largest law firms in Alabama. She earned a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University and earned her law degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. As a thoughful Birmingham divorce attorney, she is caring and compassionate with the experience to handle even the most complex family and financial issues. Ms. Lyman Dowling is a volunteer mediator in the Birmingham Courts Mediation Project and a certified guardian ad litem for Alabama's children. She is also specially trained and registered as a domestic relations mediator with the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution, which was established by the Alabama Supreme Court and trained as a collaborative divorce lawyer pursuant to the standards set by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. She is also a member of the Alabama State Bar, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections, the Birmingham Bar Association and the Birmingham Women's Exchange.
