Paul Silver, Member of Lindsay Hart Neil & Weigler

Paul Silver is an expert at litigating complex civil cases. His specialty areas include defending medical and legal malpractice claims, products liability, construction defect and trucking liability defense.

Simply put, Paul is a lawyer who can try a case — having served as the lead attorney on more than 150 jury trials over the years. These trials have ranged from major criminal trials to significant civil litigation.

Two years out of law school, Paul was tapped to head a select group of deputy district attorneys in Portland to prosecute those accused of adult and child sexual assaults, and other violent crimes. He successfully prosecuted serial rapists, murderers and career criminals. These cases included serving as a special prosecutor in the shooting of police officers and the attempted killing of anOregonian reporter.

Later, Paul went into civil practice and was appointed managing attorney of the Seattle/Portland offices of a major national insurance company, again trying dozens of cases, this time in the civil arena.

Paul is in demand as a speaker to share his expertise on juries and trial tactics. He regularly speaks to bar groups, judges and various industry groups. His talks with physician and hospital groups cover issues related to avoiding ethical and medical malpractice issues.

Paul was selected by his peers and by Law & Politics to appear on the OregonSuper Lawyers list in 2008. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar and the U.S. District Court (Oregon). Paul received his J.D. from Willamette University Law School and a B.A. from Alma College.
