OVERVIEW:
The Cook & Cook Law Firm LLC handles various legal issues pertaining to family law, criminal law, and litigation.
The firm is lead by Justin D. Cook and Megan V. Connor: “My goal is to advise my clients as if they are my own family. Of utmost importance in any attorney-client relationship is honest, accurate advise.” The Cook Law Firm Advantage: What Client’s Can Expect: First, today’s technology allows our office to be accessible at all hours of the day. The common 8-5 firm times make it nearly impossible for working people to meet with lawyers. As such, The Cook Law Firm offers extremely flexible meeting times and many avenues for client communication.
After the initial visit, The Cook & Cook Law Firm will know the particular needs of the client and will have formed an “Attorney Client Plan.” The plan will overview how the attorney will efficiently and properly handle the matter and the proper means of communicating with the client, whether in person, by phone, text or e-mail. The Cook & Cook Law Firm strongly believes that technology used in the courtroom can make the difference between winning and losing a case. Megan V. Connor of the Cook & Cook Law Firm was Certified in Courtroom Technology by the Trial Practice Institute in 2008. Attorney Connor took several training courses on how to effectively litigate using technology.
The Cook & Cook Law Firm uses many cutting edge technological tools which enable the attorney to work more efficiently than Texas attorneys who use older, less fast moving methods. Efficient work is extremely important to clients paying attorneys by the hour because the faster the work, the lower the cost to the client. Specific examples of technology used by the Cook Law Firm include the use of electronic research instead of book research and the use of text messaging and e-mailing with all clients who choose to, instead of written letter forms.
EDUCATION:
Ms. Connor, one of the firms leading attorneys, graduated with honors from one of the "Big Ten" schools, Michigan State University College of Law. In law school, Ms. Connor was an associate editor of Law Review. She worked in a Tax Clinic for people in need of tax help whom could not afford lawyers. She was captain of the environmental moot court team. The Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institue is a vigorous litigation training program at the college of law and it certified her in trial practice. Ms. Connor became a Saint Bernard Scholarship winner in the Fieger Trial Practice Institute. She worked in an insurance Defense firm in Michigan as well as in the Michigan Tax Tribunal before moving to San Antonio to fight for justice in Texas.
