Case History
Getting an Extra 6 months of Rent Free Living
Practice Area: Bankruptcy
Description: Client was overwhelmed by debt and banks would not modify their loan. They wished to surrender the home but maximize their time in it--cost free by the way. Through strategic timing on the filing of their case I was able to get the couple an extra six months of rent free living in the house by delaying foreclosure proceedings.
Outcome: Filed client as a 13 in order to maximize their time in the home. Clients then decided, based on advice, that if they decided to cut their hours at work they could convert to a Chapter 7 and I was able to discharge all their debt.
Previous Bankuptcy? No problem
Practice Area: Bankruptcy
Description: Client had previously filed a Chapter 7 within past 8 years requiring a Chapter 13.
Outcome: I was able to get them payments of $27 for two years with an increase to ocur only when their car payments were completed. Even though they had a previous 7, their payments were essentially $27 for three years.
Minmizing Plan Payments
Practice Area: Bankruptcy
Description: Client originally showed disposable income of nearly $1,200 per month and could have been facing payments of this amount.
Outcome: Through a series of pre-planning strategies I was able to get them payments under $300 per month and through key strategy was able to protect client from losing pay raise to trustee.
Stopping Garnishment in their tracks
Practice Area: Bankruptcy
Description: Client had two judgments against them. Collection attorney was preparing garnishment. Client did not yet have the money to file.
Outcome: I was able to call and negotiate with collection attorneys to prevent the garnishment from proceeding--client did not have to pay creditors one cent and I was able to buy them the time to pay their filing fees.

Outcome: Using my status as a bankruptcy attorney and relationships with collection attorneys, I was able to get settlement of outstanding debt of 50% on the dollar without lengthy discussions.
