The Laurence M. Deutsch Law Firm, P.C. represents the victims of medical malpractice in obtaining just compensation, to the fullest extent of the law.

Our philosophy is to spare no effort or resources, to give our clients the best possible opportunity for a successful outcome in the legal process.

We have developed an extensive network of world-class physician experts, to assure that "our experts" are accurate, credible and effective.  We maintain state-of-the-art medical and legal research techniques, to assure our access to all available medical knowledge, and the full range of New York law.

The Firm's principal, Mr. Deutsch, is an experienced and trial tested attorney, in practice since 1988 and specializing in medical malpractice litigation since 1992.

Mr. Deutsch began his career representing physicians and insurance companies in defense of malpractice suits, before representing the injured victims of malpractice.  This experience on "both sides" of personal injury cases gives us an unusual perspective, to the benefit of our clients, from which we can better anticipate what the "other side" will do in a given case.

Our firm employs Certified Paralegals and an in-house Registered Nurse, to assist in a professional, effective prosecution of our clients' cases.

Case History

P. v. Anonymous (Urologist) April 2009

Practice Area: Medical Malpractice

Description: Plaintiff was under care of urologist for several years, during which "PSA levels" (possible prostate cancer) were followed. Though seen at regular, four month intervals, he developed a condition of severe urinary retention and bladder distension, not diagnosed by his urologist. Delay in diagnosis, we alleged, caused development of dysfunctional bladder, and need to self-catheterize to urinate. Partial liability was sought from gastroenterologist (and settlement contribution obtained) due to his, later, failure to respond to abnormal lab results. Case was settled shortly prior to Jury Selection. Experts were retained from urology, gastroenterology and nephrology/kidney disease.

Outcome: $1.8 Million settlement.

Practice Area: Medical Malpractice
