Quyen T. Kiet was admitted to the California Bar in 1996 after graduating from the University of Southern California Law School. Since opening his own firm upon graduation, he has been a trial attorney practicing in the areas of business, tort and real estate litigation. Also a member of the Georgia Bar, Quyen enjoys a wide breadth of litigation experience spanning two states since 1996. A rising star in the Georgia Bar, Quyen was appointed by the Georgia Governor in 2003 to serve on the Asian American Commission for a New Georgia. Quyen is the founding partner of Kiet, Cothran & Zirillo, and heads the litigation department overseeing complex litigation matters. In addition to his professional achievements as an attorney, Quyen also volunteers his time as a speaker at community centers to educate local area residents and immigrants in practical aspects of the legal system. Quyen and his wife, Pauline, live in Orange County with their two young children.


After growing up in Carmel, Indiana, Mr. Cothran attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN where he received a B.A. in Law & Society. Three years later, Mr. Cothran received his concurrent M.B.A. and J.D. from Argosy University and Western State University College of Law in Orange County, California. Mr. Cothran is licensed to practice in California State courts and the Central District of California Federal courts. During law school, Mr. Cothran worked with a local attorney assisting families with developmentally disabled children gain conservatorships. Mr. Cothran later worked with an employment litigation firm representing employees who have been wrongfully terminated or who had been taken advantage of by their employers. Continuing his passion for helping those in need, Mr. Cothran now heads his firm’s Bankruptcy law division, and has gained extensive experience in consumer bankruptcy practice and consumer protection.


Mr. Zirillo is licensed to practice law in California State courts and the California Central District Federal courts and has significant litigation and transactional experience. Before entering private practice, Mr. Zirillo worked for law firms in the areas of civil litigation, business/corporate transactional and business litigation. Mr. Zirillo has also worked in a pro bono legal aid clinic practicing family law. Mr. Zirillo is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association and the Italian American Lawyers Association. Mr. Zirillo received his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California and his B.A. in Business with a major in Accounting from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
