Peter Flintoft is a native of Chelsea, Michigan, and has been lead counsel for the City of Chelsea continuously and at various times to the surrounding Townships of Sylvan, Lyndon, Dexter, Sharon, Stockbridge, Lima, and Freedom and to their various boards and authorities.

He received his BA from Northwestern University [history departmental honors] in 1965 and his JD from the Law School at the University of Michigan in 1968. He began at Keusch and Flintoft in 1968. His professional duties have included various offices in the Washtenaw County Bar Association leading to his election as its president in 1982 and long service as a member of the Michigan State Attorney Grievance Commission’s hearing panels.

His community involvement includes his leadership in the restoration of the former 1905 Chelsea State Bank building into the present 14th District Court in Chelsea, service upon various community boards, and service on the Board of the Michigan Conference of the United Church of Christ, including his election as its President.
