Scott Shapiro, Member of Joseph, Herzfeld, Hester & Kirschenbaum, LLP

Scott performs advisory functions for the firm of Joseph, Herzfeld, Hester & Kirschenbaum and serves as a Constitutional Law and Legal Theory professor at the University of Michigan Law School. Before he joined Michigan’s faculty, he served as a Yale Law School Visiting Professor (from 2002 to 2003) and a Professor at the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in New York (for nine years). Along with Jules Coleman, Scott edits the Oxford Handbook of Jurisprudence and the Philosophy of Law and publishes a wide variety of articles regarding philosophy and legal and political matters.

Scott received his B.A. at Columbia University in 1987 and got a PhD with distinction in 1996. He graduated from Yale Law School in 1990 (Phi Beta Kappa) and served as a Senior Editor of the Yale Law Journal.
