I am a former Collin County prosecutor. I am licensed to practice in state courts and in the Federal District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
My Credentials
After Graduating from SMUs Dedman School of Law in 2000, I worked for lawyers in big and small firms. I came to the Collin County District Attorneys Office where I was promoted to Chief Prosecutor over-seeing a County Court at Law. There I handled countless DW I cases, drug cases, theft cases, and assault cases just to name a few. I am a member of the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Collin County Bar Association, and Plano Bar Association. I am a founding partner of Nolte, Drain & Rosenthal, PLLC where I am currently the managing partner.
My name is Derk Wadas, I am an attorney with a practice dedicated solely to providing representation in criminal cases in all Texas state courts and in Federal court. I amBoard Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
I am a former Collin County prosecutor and practicing criminal attorney since 1998. During my years as a criminal prosecutor I tried over seventy cases to a jury and spent my career in the courtroom. I have the skills, experience and commitment to represent you in any type of crime.
It is important to me to stay abreast of changes in the law, and continually strive to deliver superior representation to clients. For those reasons, I am a member of organizations including the National College for DUI Defense, and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Further, I have completed the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Practitioner course and am a certified practitioner. I have the same level of training in field sobriety testing as the police who investigate Driving While Intoxicated cases.
Bo Kalabus began his legal career as a civil litigator and specialized in defending personal injury cases. Along the way, he successfully represented several Fortune 500 companies in several different litigation areas including product liability, premises liability, and toxic tort cases. Bo also served as national counsel for several clients where he planned litigation strategies and supervised all aspects of trial preparation for numerous cases throughout the county. After several years in civil practice, Bo turned his focus to starting his own law firm and developing a criminal defense practice to complement his experience on the civil docket. On September 4, 2010 the Kalabus Law Firm was proud to announce its affiliation with Rosenthal & Wadas L.L.P., a firm strongly rooted in the practice of criminal defense. Since that time, Bo has been able to bring positive results to clients in many arenas involving criminal defense from jury trials, to ALR hearings, and to the appellate level. As your lawyer, Bo brings his experience as a litigator and his "Big Firm" attention to detail.
