My name is Tim Flaherty. For more than a decade, I have defended thousands of clients against criminal charges ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. While still in law school, I worked as a law clerk for a firm which focused on death penalty defense cases. After graduation, I worked as a Public Defender for three years before opening this law firm.

As a private attorney I will allocate 100 percent of my time, and my expertise on criminal defense. I will protect my clients’ rights with passion and purpose, always doing whatever it takes to get the most favorable result in a case. Meticulous negotiations with prosecutors, working to suppress illegally obtained evidence before the trial, and using my extensive courtroom experience at trial. I will manage every case personally, and work to achieve the best possible outcome in each case.

This is the only form of law I have ever practiced.

After moving to Florida, I worked as a Public Defender from 2001 until March of 2004 when I started my own firm. During my time as a Public Defender, I defended thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases. While I enjoyed my role and gained a lot of experience, I realized that the severe case load made it very difficult to dedicate enough time to each client that was deserved.

Since opening my own practice, I've done things a little differently. While I may have carried upwards of 200 cases at any given time as a public defender, as a private attorney I choose and limit my case load to fit my clients’ needs.

I will be allotting sufficient time for each client, which is critical in defense work. It means that specific details are not missed, my clients and I can work closely as a team, and they can contact me anytime they have a question. Thorough reviews and analysis can be done on every case. This allows me to devote all of my talent and resourcefulness to defending each client.
