As an attorney I could work in any area of law, but I truly believe that I have been called to work in immigration. While it may not always be the most glamorous field, it has become my passion and one of my great loves in life along with my family and faith.
Prior to Fisher & Frommer I worked as an attorney at a law firm that practiced solely immigration law. During my tenure with this firm I was tasked with filing various visas for a variety of individuals ranging from corporations, individuals and entertainers. I was personally responsible for successfully bringing over hundreds of individuals on employment based visas. During this period I was also part of the process of lobbying the Department of Labor against changes on behalf of our corporate clients concerning the H visa. I represented our firm and its clients in Washington, DC where I met with the heads of the Department of Labor Foreign Labor Division. I also traveled to Chicago to the Department of Labors office where they actually process Foreign Labor Certifications.
In 2006, I started up Fisher & Frommer. At this stage in my career, I have successfully handled every type of immigration case including the most complicated cases within the field. Specifically in my business I have filed for H-1, H-2B, H-2a, H-3, O, P, PERM, E-2, L-1, EB-5, VAWA, international adoption, F-1, citizenship, I-751 and all family based petitions, including consular processing. Our clients for employment based visas include businesses ranging from Universities, software companies, hospitals, manufacturing companies, assisted living facilities, entertainment companies, etc.
In addition to handling visas my specialty is immigration based litigation. A large part of my practice is representing individuals who are in deportation proceedings and also filing with the Board of Immigration of Appeals or directly working with ICE in matters of deferred action.
I make between 75 and 100 appearances per year between Immigration Court and USCIS interviews. As an immigration attorney I am allowed to practice immigration in any immigration court in the US. Due to the nature of my work I travel on a constant basis to the three immigration courts in Florida which are located in Orlando, Miami (Krome and downtown) and Pompano Beach. Additionally, due to the fact that detained individuals are moved around the country I have appeared in courts in San Francisco, Reno, Las Vegas, Dallas, Lumpkin, Georgia, Charlotte, North Carolina, Boston, Oakdale, Louisiana, Batavia, New York, Ulster, New York, Newark and frequently appear in New York City (detained (Varick) and non-detained (Federal Plaza)) and attended USCIS interviews in many of these cities, including Roanoke, Virginia, and Tampa, Florida.
My cases that I handle in litigation include individuals accused of overstay, fraud, criminal convictions, adjustments and asylum cases. I regularly handle Cancellation of Removal cases both 240(A)(a) and (b), along with numerous other types of waivers and appeals. I literally handle with much success the most complex cases there are in immigration.
While I have not counted exactly how many immigration cases I have handled, reviewed, consulted with or been associated with, I estimate that the number is easily in the thousands. Based on this experience there is rarely a situation that we have not seen before.
