Tom Sherod, Member of Fields Law Firm

Tom was born in Dayton, Ohio, but was raised along the sunny beaches of Melbourne, Florida.  Tom attended the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelors Degree Summa Cum Laude (with Highest Honors) in Psychology, his Masters Degree in Clinical and Health Psychology and his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in Law.  Tom’s first job out of law school was in Ocala, Florida where he worked for a small personal injury law firm where he specialized in workers’ compensation litigation.  Tom moved to the Birmingham, Alabama area in 2006 and joined FML Attorneys (then Fields Law Firm) where he currently specializes in handling workers’ compensation injuries, automobile accident litigation and social security disability/SSI claims.  During his career, Tom has exclusively represented injured people or individuals who have become disabled and are unable to work…and he wouldn’t have it any other way.  He takes fighting for the rights of the “little guy” seriously, and will give your case the time and attention that it needs and deserves.

Tom is admitted to both the Alabama and Florida Bars, and is licensed to practice in front of any state court in either jurisdiction.  He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.  Tom is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association and the Birmingham Bar Association.    

On a personal note, Tom enjoys hiking, golf, tennis and anything outdoors.  He is a HUGE Gator fan, but he is accustomed to being hassled about that since he lives in Alabama.  He is married to his wonderful wife, Megan, and they have a three year old “puppy” named Max.
