Mr. Recht graduated from West Virginia University in 1970, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Recht graduated from the West Virginia College of Law in 1973, finishing in the top 25% of his class. In August 1973, Mr. Recht entered the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps for 4 years. In September 1977, Mr. Recht began the private practice of law in Weston, West Virginia. In 1979, Mr. Recht joined an oil and gas company as its General Counsel. He relocated to Colorado in 1981 where he gained extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, including work in securities law, commercial transactions, and private placement offerings. In 1982, Mr. Recht became licensed to practice law in Colorado, and was admitted in all Colorado state courts, as well as the federal court for the District of Colorado. Mr. Recht started his private practice in Colorado in September 1986, and has been continuously engaged in a civil law practice, with an emphasis in the areas of bankruptcy, family law, and commercial transactions. Mr. Recht's bankruptcy practice is limited to representing only debtors in Chapter 7 bankruptcies.

James Recht is a Member/Owner and Partner of Elkins Combs & Recht LLC. He received his J.D. from West Virginia College of Law in 1973, and became licensed to practice law in the State and Federal Courts of Colorado in 1982. James also served in the U.S. Air Force in the Judge Advocate General Corps from 1973 to 1977. He was in private practice in West Virginia from 1977 to 1979. From 1979 until 1986, James served as corporate counsel for an oil & gas company that drilled & operated wells in West Virginia and Colorado. In 1986, James opened his practice in Englewood, Colorado, where he provided legal services in civil matters with an emphasis on family law and bankruptcy. James has counseled and represented many hundreds of consumers and businesses in all stages of debt solution and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. James is dedicated to providing personal attention to his clients in order to assure them that their legal rights will be protected under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code so that they will be able to achieve the debt relief necessary to gain a fresh start in their financial lives.
