Jerry Redmond, Jr., concentrates his practice on litigation defense, primarily, labor and employment, immigration, commercial and various other areas of litigation. Mr. Redmond has significant experience representing, assisting and counseling corporations and individuals in immigrations matters, including I-9, E-Verify, H-1B and L-1 visa compliance issues, internal employment authorization audits, government investigations, preparation of compliance programs, obtaining employment, business visitor, asylee/refugee, investor and family based visas, including temporary nonimmigrant “work visas” and permanent immigrant visas (commonly referred to as “green cards”), global visa issues for employers with international operations and he defends individuals in deportation proceedings. Mr. Redmond expertise in immigration law was recently showcased at the May 2010 Texas Lawyer Immigration Roundtable, where he served as one of three expert panelist discussing relevant issues in immigration law. Additionally, Mr. Redmond also has extensive labor and employment experience, which includes the defense of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, EPA, PDA, FLSA, TCHRA,OSHA and state law employment related matters, grievances and labor arbitrations filed under the NLRA, ERISA litigation, worker’s compensation matters, trade secret and non-compete disputes and responding to unemployment, NLRB, EEOC and TCHR charge/claims. He also counsels and assists corporations with drafting and auditing handbooks, employment policies, contracts, executive compensation and/or separation agreements, internal, OFCCP, OSHA, whistleblower and EEOC charge/claim investigations, union avoidance, CBA negotiations and litigation avoidance. His experience has made him a frequent speaker at various forums in Texas and Alabama, including recently serving as a panelist at the 2009 and 2010 Texas Lawyer Labor and Employment Law Roundtables.
