Robert Thompson, Member of CleanStart Law Firm

Mr. Thompson received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Arts in Business Economics from the University of California, Riverside. He distinguished himself by working hard and graduating with honors in both majors. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law in Southern California where he again distinguished himself by graduating in the top of his class. 

Mr. Thompson has considerable experience in consumer bankruptcy. He was a legal extern for the Honorable Judge Meredith Jury, Bankruptcy Court for the Central District, Riverside. Mr. Thompson assisted the court with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings and worked with all of the legal issues from all perspectives; debtor, creditor and the Bankruptcy Court. He has the thorough knowledge necessary to obtain discharges under either Chapter, thus giving our clients the “fresh start” that they need and deserve. 

Mr. Thompson is also experienced in Tax Law; he served as a legal extern for the Board of Equalization/Franchise Tax Board. In that capacity, he worked closely with clients that had tax deficiencies, but couldn’t afford representation. As an advocate on their behalf, he negotiated their deficiencies and was often able to settle matters advantageous to the client. 

A proud member of the California State Bar, the American Bar Association and other applicable practice area membership groups, Mr. Thompson enjoys keeping up to date on the current trends and issues in real estate and bankruptcy. He is experienced at counseling and advising clients through the myriad of legal issues that arise with their real estate and financial issues in order to obtain for them the much needed relief that helps provide them a fresh start. In his free time he enjoys golf, traveling and baseball.
