We have a registered nurse on staff who assists us in reviewing medical negligence claims and we have relationships with physician experts in a variety of medical specialties throughout Indiana and across the country who are available to review your claim. We advance all expenses and therefore do not ask for you to contribute any out of pocket money before you even know if you have a valid claim.

Rex Baker Profile

Rex Baker was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and raised in Greencastle, Indiana. He was graduated from Hanover College in 1979 with a B.A. in psychology. He completed his law degree from Western State University in 1986, where he graduated 17th out a class of 150 and was a member of the Western State University Law Review.

Since 1986, his entire legal career has been devoted to representing injured individuals in personal injury claims, medical malpractice, including hospital and nursing home negligence. He has represented clients with all types of injuries, including paralysis and death. Before partnering with Caroline Gilchrist, he spent 13 years as an associate and partner at one of the most prestigious personal injury firms in Indianapolis. He is the author of several articles, including “Has the Comparative Fault Act Abolished Incurred Risk” in Res Gestae magazine and was a contributing author to Indiana Personal Injury and Torts, a treatise for other attorneys.

Caroline Gilchrist Profile

Caroline Gilchrist is a partner in the firm of Baker & Gilchrist, with an office in Avon. Rex Baker and Caroline formed Baker & Gilchrist in 1999 in an effort to form a practice that represents individuals in a manner consistent with their beliefs and goals. An attorney since 1982, Caroline’s primary focus is in litigation and she practices primarily in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. She is both a Certified Family Law Mediation (1987) and a Certified Civil Law Mediator (1993).

For the last several years, Caroline Gilchrist has represented individuals who have suffered injury, such as those as a result of an accident or by medical malpractice. However, several years prior, she also represented physicians which provided her with an understanding of the defense attorneys’ and insurance companies’ thought process.
