Mr. Straile has eight years experience within the criminal justice system; he is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a member of the Florida Bar, and a past treasurer for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Young Lawyers Division.

Mr. Straile focuses his practice on trial law specializing in criminal, traffic, family and business law. Criminal cases include white collar criminal defense, driving under the influence (“DUI”) of drugs or alcohol, criminal traffic, vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter, sex offenses, drug offenses from trafficking to mere possession, bond issues, violation of probation, theft, child abuse, domestic violence, battery, organized fraud, exploitation of the elderly, and weapons charges.  Mr. Straile handles all levels of criminal offenses from misdemeanors to life felonies and criminal appeals. Traffic ticket defense includes all criminal traffic such as racing, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, driving outside or in violation of license restrictions, vehicular homicide, and civil traffic tickets include speeding, failure to yield or stop, careless driving, seatbelt violations etc.

Family cases include divorce, custody, paternity, modification, domestic violence, child abduction, division of assets, parenting plans, and marital settlement agreements. Mr. Straile represents businesses from start up to litigation after sale. Attorney Christian A. Mr. Straile earned an LL.M (advanced law degree) from the University of Florida in tax law, a J.D. from St. Thomas University and a B.S. from Lambuth University.  Prior to entering the legal field Mr. Straile worked providing financial services and advice at Banker’s Life & Casualty and Morgan Stanley.  This education and experience has benefited clients in both civil and criminal litigation.  This background provides insight to the issues facing white collar defendants, business clients, and estate litigation cases. Mr. Straile’s education and experience has led many clients to request Mr. Straile to draft contracts, wills trusts and other estate planning documents.

Mr. Straile spent two years between the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami and the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Ft. Lauderdale.  While in Law school Mr. Straile was active in trial competitions, and coached the St. Thomas Trial Team.  In addition Mr. Straile’s volunteer work includes time with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program where Mr. Straile served as an organizer of the program and a liaison between the program and the Internal Revenue Service.   Mr. Straile has also volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America where he has taught merit badges, served as quartermaster, and assistant scout master.

Too many Teens

Practice Area: DUI and DWI

Description: Under age person came to the office charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, and felony possession of a controlled substance. Law enforcement found over five 1.75 liter bottles of varying types of booze in the vehicle along with seven passengers all of whom where underage. According to law enforcement many of the occupants were intoxicated, the client was swerving, almost hitting property, had slurred speech, refused the roadside exercises and the breathalizer.

Outcome: This case turned on the evidence battle. Attorney Christian A. Straile was able to exclude evidence. All drug charges were dismissed prior to trial. Client found not guilty at trial.

Buyer beware

Description: The sale of a business went sour after the new owners discovered creative bookkeeping and misstatements of financial records.

Outcome: Mr. Straile's advanced degree in taxation and his background in financial services brought this case to a quick conclusion at the mediation table. Using the tax code as leverage a settlement was reached and the clients achieved their pre-litigation goals.
