Case History
Mr. Jones
Practice Area: Auto Accident
Description: Mr. Jone's car accident case is a great example of what we try to do in every case. Mr. Jones was involved in a car accident. Shortly thereafter, he hired another law firm. That firm informed him that they thought his case was worth $15,000. Even though his neck continued to hurt, he would have accepted their recommendation. However, when things started getting tough, Mr. Jones' former attorneys bailed on him. Mr. Jones returned back to work as a welder for over 6 months. Mr. Jones was forced to work in pain and had no insurance to help pay his medical bills. Mr. Jones hired our firm. We immediately referred him to one of the top Neurosurgeons to check out his neck. It was found that he had a dangerous herniated disc which required spine surgery. We paid for Mr. Jones' medical treatment, including his spine surgery. We were in the position to finance the case because immediately after being hired, we performed a very extensive investigation of his case, including a detailed investigation of the other driver. We found a great deal of damaging information regarding the other driver as well as the fact that there was a large insurance policy that the insurance carrier was trying to keep secret. Our efforts did not stop there. Once we determined that the other driver was at fault and that our client was seriously injured, we took efforts to proactively develop his case for jury trial. These efforts included out of the box ideas, like hiring a graphic artist to show the jury what spine surgery really looks like. We have found that the only way to maximize a recovery in a case is to develop a case in such an overwhelming way that our opponents are forced to pay.
Outcome: We obtained a settlement in the amount of $450,000. While this is not our largest case, it is a good example of the extra value that hard work and ability provides in personal injury cases. Our client was extremely happy with the result. After all, he would have accepted $15,000.
