Patrick Angel grew up in and around Bossier City, Louisiana and enlisted in the US Marine Corps after graduating high school.  Patrick rose through the enlisted ranks quickly and was an infantry Sergeant, leading Marines into combat, by the time the first Gulf War broke out in August of 1990.  Then Sergeant Angel was a member of the Marine Corps' Task Force Ripper, which served as the tip of the spear for offensive operations of the First Marine Division.

After being honorably discharged from the military after an event filled six-year enlistment, Patrick was accepted to the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned his Bachelor's degree before attending law school in Portland Oregon.  While at Lewis and Clark Law School Patrick revealed an early talent for courtroom excellence by winning the honor of Best Oral Advocate during the traditional first year Moot Court Competition.

He was also one of very few law students certified by the State of Oregon to try criminal cases for the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office while still in law school.  Patrick tried numerous criminal cases to jury verdict while working in the District Attorney's office in 2001.

After interning in the District Attorney's office as a law student, Patrick's legal career has always focused on representing Oregonians from all over the State who have been exploited or injured by the wrongdoing of others.  He takes only a small number of new cases each year and personally handles every aspect of each client's case from the first meeting to the end of trial.  Patrick has extensive courtroom experience having prevailed in countless hard fought motions of every type and kind; he's handled numerous complex legal cases, and has logged hundreds of hours in intensive depositions.  Patrick is experienced with every aspect of preparing a client's civil case for trial.

Patrick is an active member of the Oregon State Bar sitting as a member of the executive committee of the Products Liability Section.  He is a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association, and has been a member of Oregon Trial Lawyer's Association (OTLA) for nearly ten years.  He has represented injured or exploited clients all over the state of Oregon from Medford to Portland to Hermiston and most points in between.  He is admitted to practice in the State Courts of Oregon, including the Oregon Court of Appeals, and the US Federal District Court for the District of Oregon.

Experience

Brayton Purcell, (Portland, OR)

Senior Associate Attorney, 2007 - 2010

For most of my time at Brayton Purcell in Portland I ran a law office of three attorneys and eight support staff focusing on product liability civil litigation. We specialized in representing plaintiffs injured by asbestos exposure. Asbestos litigation is complex, face paced, and intense legal work which provided me with invaluable experience in advanced discovery tactics, oral argument, motion practice, and trial preparation and practice.

Angel Lombard LLP, (Portland, OR)

Partner, 2005 - 2007

Angel Lombard, LLP was a Portland injury firm I co-founded which represented victims of employment discrimination, medical malpractice, dangerous products, dangerous prescription drugs, as well as victims of serious vehicle accidents and unsafe premises conditions. We dissolved the business when my partner decided to pursue a career in family law, which was never an area of interest to me.

Law Office of Patrick Angel, PC, (Portland, OR)

Sole Practitioner, 2004 - 2005

After working in the Multnomah County courthouse after law school as a judicial clerk, I began a solo practice in Portland representing Oregonians injured in car accidents, victims of landlords who violated tenant rights, as well as consumers being illegally harassed by unfair debt collection practices. During this time I also spent a lot of time helping other local attorneys prepare car accident cases for trial, conducting witness depositions and accident investigation, among many other things.
