Description: In 1991 Fred Anderson argued California v. Acevedo before the United States Supreme Court.
Outcome: The case changed the entire law of auto searches. Now if a police officer has probable cause to believe that an auto contains contraband, he may search the entire auto including any packages, boxes, briefcases or purses without a search warrant.
