Paola Marie Alvarez de Bennett

Immigration Attorney

Deborah Hoover Hupfer

Deborah Hoover Hupfer was born in Alabama, but she grew up in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, South America. After graduating high school, Deborah returned to the United States in 1996 in order to attend college. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2000 with a degree in Spanish and Political Science.

Following college, Deborah spent 6 years working for the Bolivian Consulate of Oklahoma where she helped people obtain visas, renew passports, and establish businesses both in the United States and in Bolivia. During her time with the Consulate she also assisted in arranging for a number of financially destitute, severely injured Bolivian children to be brought to the United States for medical treatment at Shriner's Hospital in Texas.

Deborah left the Consulate in 2007 to pursue a career in Immigration Law at Oklahoma City University School of Law. She chose immigration because she knew that this was an extremely complicated area of law where she could use her personal experiences and her fluency in Spanish to make a real difference in the lives of her clients.

During her time at OCU, Deborah participated in OCU's Immigration Law Clinic, interned at Catholic Charities in Oklahoma City, and represented OCU Law in the American Constitution Society Moot Court Competition. She also served as a Student Ambassador, as Vice-President of the Immigration Law Association, and as Treasurer of the Lesbian and Gay Law Student Association - a position which ignited a passion for protecting the rights of alternative lifestyle families in Oklahoma.

Deborah graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law in May of 2010. She now serves as an Associate Attorney with Alvarez de Bennett Law, P.C. in which she focuses in the following areas: Family Law & Divorce; Mediation; Victims of Domestic Violence (U Visas & I-918 Petitions & Law Enforcement Certifications; VAWA cases & I-360 Petitions); Asylum Cases (Convention Against Torture; Persecution based on Political, Social Group, Religious Affiliation); Immigrant Petitions (I-130 Petitions for Family Members, I-129F Petitions for Fiancés of U.S. Citizens, and others); and preparation of 42A and 42B Cancellation of Removal Applications for Immigration Court in Deportation/Removal cases. Deborah strives to provide exceptional legal services to all her clients regardless of their nationality, immigration status, sexual preference, or financial situation.

Deborah lives with her husband and two daughters in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Jennifer Heflin

Jennifer Diane Heflin was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Oklahoma. She is from the Sand Springs area and graduated from Sapulpa High School. After graduating high school, Jennifer attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing.

Following college, Jennifer worked in the business industry before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an attorney. She began attending the University of Tulsa College of Law in January 2002. While attending law school, Jennifer participated in the Boesche Legal Clinic with emphasis in both Elder Law and Health Law. She started at the clinic as a student for class credit. Later, she was selected for a highly competitive intern position with the clinic. She was also elected by the students of her class as a delegate to the Student Bar Association.

Jennifer graduated from the University Of Tulsa College Of Law in May 2004. She became a licensed attorney in 2005. Since obtaining her license, Jennifer has practiced in the courtroom with a high rate of success. Her drafting and negotiation skills are highly regarded and she has been triumphant at jury trial in which she even earned the compliment by a Judge who said that she had the "fastest jury deliberation" which found her client "not guilty".

She focuses primarily on the following areas: Criminal, Felonies, Misdemeanors, Traffic Tickets, including, but not limited to, Drugs, DUI, Juvenile, and Expungement; Family, including, but not limited to, Divorce, Child Support, Child Custody, and Visitation; Contracts; Business Incorporation; Estate Planning; Guardianships; Adoption; Probate; and Civil Lawsuits. She now serves as an Associate Attorney with Alvarez de Bennett Law, P.C.
