An L1 visa is a type of visa used to enter into the United States as a non immigrant for a short period of time. L1 visas are available to employees of international companies with offices in both a home country and in the United States. This type of visa allows foreign workers to enter into the United States for a period of time three years of shorter in efforts to work at or help open the office in the United States. It is required that the individual granted the L1 visa still keep their home country interests. The US office must be a parent company, child company, or sister company to the foreign company for an L1 visa to be granted for such work and entrance into the country.
