Divorce in Ohio
In the state of Ohio, there is a divorce rate of 4.5 per 1000 population, somewhat greater than the national average of 3.6 per 10000 population. Every stat in the country has its own laws concerning divorce. In Ohio, there is both fault and no-fault divorce. A no-fault divorce will be granted if both parties agree to irreconcilable differences. A fault based divorce will be granted if grounds are met such as: polygamy, a spouse was absent for over year, adultery, extreme cruelty, fraud, gross negligence, habitual drunkenness, or if a spouse was imprisoned when the divorce was filed.
