Each state has its own laws regarding divorce. Divorce will be granted in the state for certain grounds such as incompatibility, cruel and inhumane treatment, adultery, and abandonment. The division of property between the two parties will be either decided by them, or by the judge presiding over the case in accordance with the community property principle.
