Bill Harrell, Member of Harrell and Harrell
Born in Lake City, Florida, in 1946, Bill attended the University of Florida on an athletic scholarship and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law.
Upon his graduation, Bill was inducted into the University of Florida Hall of Fame in recognition of his leadership, athletic and academic accomplishments.
Bill is an "AV" rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, and was Board Certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by the Florida Bar in 1988. Having tried a significant number of jury cases to verdict, Bill continues to bring his substantial trial experience to the development of cases in the firm.
He was formerly a Director of the Florida Justice Association and a Trustee of the Florida Lawyers Action Group. He is a Legacy Member of the Justice Association and a recipient of the Crystal Eagle Award.
Bill is also President of the First Amendment Society, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation of the First Amendment.
Bill was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army in 1968 and then served three years as a Deputy Sheriff before entering law school. He is married to Renee D. Harrell, a trial attorney and the Firm's President.
He has four children. His son, Holt, and daughter, Julie, are also trial attorneys with the firm. Kimberly Harrell (B.S., MBA) recently joined the Firm's administration from Disney and his fourth child, Susan, has her Bachelor's in Culinary Science and is an Executive Chef.
