About the Author

Bert Gonzalez is a 2009 graduate of the Santa Clara University School of Law. Before attending Santa Clara, Bert received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Southern California. While at Santa Clara, he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in California Civil Procedure.

Bert’s working experience during law school including working with in-House counsel at TiVo after his first year, assisting them in creating and maintaining a legal database of all their former and current contracts and obligations. During the summer of his second year, Bert clerked for the Honorable Socrates P. Manoukian at the Santa Clara County Superior Court, assisting in the research and preparation of court orders involving various Discovery Disputes between litigants. Finally, throughout his third year of law school, Bert worked at a small employment law firm, assisting the attorneys in preparing complaints and discovery requests, assisting in client intakes and interviews, preparing mediation briefs, and answering discovery requests.
